Kids4aKure's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.
Our team is led by Northampton High School seniors Aidan and Eli and Liberty High School senior Ilia. We are standing up as candidates for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2025 Lehigh Valley and Northeast PA Student Visionaries of the Year campaign. Student Visionaries of the Year is a seven-week leadership development program that runs from January 17th, 2025, to March 8th, 2025, to raise money to help blood cancer patients not only survive but thrive after treatment.
We build our team, Kids4aKure, of committed friends and family members to partner with us on this journey to help create a world without blood cancer. Together, they set a fundraising goal of $100,000, but we can't do it alone. We need YOUR help! The money raised helps LLS, the largest nonprofit dedicated to creating a world without blood cancers, fund research to advance lifesaving treatments, drive advocacy for policies that protect patient access to these treatments, and provide patients and families with hope, guidance, education, and support. Each of us – Aiden, Eli and Ilia - desire to continue our education after high school in medicine and to helping others, and we are particularly passionate about research and will be representing this area of LLS during our campaign. Here are only a few of many facts about LLS and research:
- LLS has invested more than $1.8 billion in research for all types of blood cancer since our founding.
- LLS recognized early on that chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy would hold great promise for patients with blood cancer. Our ongoing investment in CAR T-cell therapy, beginning in the 1990s, has led to game-changing treatments, giving new hope to patients with limited options.
- LLS has helped fund over 70% of the blood cancer treatments approved by the FDA over the last 2 decades.
We want to help patients get access to treatments and help raise enough money to make an impact and increase awareness, to help blood cancer patients when they need it most. In 2024, here in the Lehigh Valley and Northeast PA alone, LLS has awarded $1,567,500 to 584 patients locally through co-pay assistance, financial aid, urgent need and travel assistance. But the work isn’t finished until there’s a cure for ALL blood cancers. Our campaign will provide support to the critical work of LLS in hopes that one day no one will have to grow up without the ones they love. We know that with YOUR HELP, we can reach our team’s goal and make a direct impact in the fight against blood cancers.
Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!
Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!
